Licensed wholesale and surplus lines broker
Valjean Specialty is the trade name of Valjean Specialty, LLC, a licensed wholesale insurance broker and surplus lines broker. We place business only in states where we hold the required licenses.
Licensed agents only
We work exclusively with licensed insurance agents and brokers. We do not accept submissions from, or provide advice to, members of the public. If you are seeking insurance for yourself or your business, please contact a licensed retail agent.
Non-admitted insurers and guaranty funds
Coverage placed with non-admitted (surplus lines) insurers is not protected by state insurance guaranty funds. If a non-admitted insurer becomes insolvent, claims may not be paid. Surplus lines insurers are not licensed by, and may not be subject to the same regulation as insurers licensed in, the insured's home state.
Surplus lines taxes and fees
Surplus lines policies are subject to state surplus lines premium taxes and, where applicable, stamping or filing fees. These are charged in addition to the policy premium and are shown on the quote and invoice.
